The Santa Clara City Library Foundation & Friends supports all kinds of classes and events at the Santa Clara City Library with your generous donations. We’re most proud of helping to support and spread literacy throughout our community, in particular our support of the summer reading program.
What is the summer reading program, you ask? It’s a set of activities, events, and classes over the summer months to draw families and people of all ages into the library. Everyone who meets certain criteria (some years it’s been numbers of books read, last year there was a bingo card to fill out) gets a prize! Turning reading into a game keeps kids reading outside of school and expands everyone’s reading experience.
The Library also hosts concerts both in Central Park and at Northside Library, they have special celebrity storytimes during the summer, as well as special hands-on science classes, and more. These are a great way to draw people into the library – and to keep them reading over the summer!
Your donation on April 10, 2019 – Library Giving Day – will help support Summer Reading and other programs that support literacy and other skills all year long. Please join others in donating on April 10 to support Summer Reading and other classes and events at the Santa Clara City Libraries!
