The Santa Clara City Library is going to start curbside pick-up and book return at Central Park Library on Monday June 15!
To pick up new books, you’ll need to put your books on hold, and then come to Central Park Library, call the posted number, and one of the library staff will check out your books and bring them to you. The library will only be open for this service with very restricted hours – Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri, Sat 10a – 2p and Weds 3p-7p. No one will be able to enter the library.
Returns will also only be accepted at Central Park Library at this time. Please return all books via the book drop. All returned materials will be quarantined for three days before being made available for checkout, per ALA and state guidelines. All due dates have been extended again, and the library is not charging fines during these times.
Please be patient with the library as they work out the kinks in this new system. New holds are not yet activated, but you might see activity on holds placed before the shelter-in-place started. Please wait until you are specifically notified that your hold is ready. (For example, if I look at my holds online, it says that one of my holds is ready, but I haven’t received a notification about it, so it’s not available for pick-up yet.)
The Foundation & Friends is helping spread word about curbside checkout, if you have further questions please contact the library at 408-615-2900 or librarians@SantaClaraCA.gov.
(Please note that as we and our volunteers are not able to be in the library, we are still not accepting donations at this time.)
