A donor has granted funding for e-readers for library users and staff.
A donor approached the Library with a question: were more resources needed for e-readers during this time of transition between traditional books and e-books?
After conversations with library staff, the donor provided funding for the purchase of 11 e-readers. Three will be given away for teen summer reading, as will three for adult summer reading; three will be given to the Read Santa Clara literacy program for their student writing contest and other programs; and two will be made available to Library staff to use to test out the new medium and then be made available for use by Read Santa Clara students.
