Often, corporations want to give back to their communities, but they don’t know which non-profits are most effective or make the biggest difference. But corporations are groups of people. The people who work for a corporation are members of their communities, know which organizations help, and where their donations can make a difference.
So many big companies (and sometimes smaller ones too) make their community giving simpler by matching their employees’ donations. If you donate $10 to the Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends, and then tell your employer about it, your employer will give us another $10. This effectively doubles the amount you’ve given to us, and is called corporate matching.
Corporate matching is especially important as the year-end giving season approaches. Please reach out to your employer to let them know all of the non-profits you’ve donated to this year, so that your donations can have a bigger, broader impact on your community and the causes you care about. Thank you.
