“Find a Job in February” event was a huge, popular success!

The Foundation funded a number of events for February focus around helping people to find a job.

Adult librarian Mary Boyle reports on yesterday’s event.  “Today first, Find a Job in February event, Resumes That Get the Interview was a big success.  I wish you could have been there to hear the questions and presentation with Professional Career Coach Camille Grabowski.  She has the latest information for jobseekers and they were very happy and grateful.  “Great presentation, articulate, very useful information,” “My knowledge of resume best practices was out of date.” “Thank you so much” “I learned what employers are looking for.” “The teacher was awesome.”  Forty-one people attended.

We have purchased lots of job books and are having a hard time keeping the shelves filled on the first floor Find a Job in February display and in the regular nonfiction area on the second floor.  The programming and the first floor placement of new books has made them accessible and they are flying off the shelves.  We have eleven copies of What Color is Your Parachute? 2013, four copies of 2012 and six copies of 2011, all of which are checked out.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!”
