“Two Read Santa Clara Staff are at the hub of the adult literacy program. They are the first people that prospective learners and tutors meet when attending their respective orientations. They match learners with tutors. They assess each learner’s literacy level and ask each learner to identify his or her literacy goals, sharing that info confidentially with the matched tutor. They work diligently behind the scenes to make sure all the tutor and learner resources previously mentioned are in place. And they are available by phone, e-mail or in person at the Mission Branch library to answer tutor questions and provide suggestions and advice. Super-supportive, super-knowledgeable, and super-friendly – the Read Santa Clara staff, and in fact the entire library staff, are ready to help you be the best tutor you can be.” — Pam Leitterman, volunteer tutor
