Earlier this year the Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends received a large donation from Ray Edinger, in honor of his wife, Margie Edignger, who passed away this past April. Both Ray and Margie were 57-year residents of Santa Clara, and have contributed much to help their community. Mr. Edinger was a trustee of the Jefferson School District in the 1960s, as well as serving as chair of the construction committee of Santa Clara United Methodist Church when they built Santa Clara’s Liberty Towers, the large senior housing development near Franklin Square. Mrs. Edinger was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Islam Temple 25 Daughters of the Nile, and heavily involved in the children’s programs at the Methodist Church of Santa Clara. She was also part of a small group of parents and interested individuals that raised funds and supported the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps during its early years. They raised three children in Santa Clara.
Please join the for a very special afternoon – the dedication of the Margie Edinger Community Room. Join us for an open house with music, food, and a celebration of the wonderful legacy of the Edinger gift to the Santa Clara City Library Foundation & Friends. This event will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 2pm until 3pm at the Central Library, at 2635 Homestead Road in Santa Clara, CA.
