Have you heard of Franklin’s AnyBook Readers? These are amazing little devices that allow low-literacy families to read books together.
We put special stickers on each page in a book. A volunteer touches the Reader to each sticker and records the text on that page. Then, a child comes along and touches the Reader to the sticker, and the recording for that page is played back. Instant reading!
We are partnering with Read Santa Clara, Intel, and the Santa Clara Unified School District to have Intel employees record a number of books (including Harry the Dirty Dog, Green Eggs and Ham, Mouse Paint, and more) later this month for the SCUSD’s Migrant Education program at Scott Lane Preschool.
We’re proud to facilitate this program to help all our families!
