If you have ever wondered what happens at the Santa Clara City Library that wouldn’t without the Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends support, wonder no more! You can always get answers on our What We Support page.
Literacy, ESL, and Read Santa Clara took the largest part of our support at 34%. This is no surprise – libraries are traditionally about books and helping people read!
Next is Adult Services, which ran the Bite by Bite community read project. We hope you were able to take part!
Third was Summer Adventure, which is what the Santa Clara City Library calls its summer reading program. This is an important initiative to stop the summer slide in literacy skills for children, as well as a fun set of activities that help bring our community together!
You might notice a new category this year – Library Improvements. These are things like art on the walls of a library branch or a new door to help contain noise in a certain area. It’s nothing strictly necessary, but all of these make your visit to your library branch more pleasant.
