Be inspired by Ruth Colvin

You all know that we’re big supporters of literacy and Read Santa Clara. Read Santa Clara is co-hosting an inspirational talk by Ruth Colvin on March 3 at 2pm in the Redwood Room. From the website:

Be inspired by Ruth Colvin, who at the age of 101, continues to champion the cause of adult literacy, and to live a full and vibrant life.

Interact with community members and enthusiastic learners from adult literacy programs, who learn to read and succeed even though some of them have had little to no formal education.

Ruth Colvin is the founder of the Literacy Volunteers of America (now Proliteracy.) She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and has been inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame. She has authored several books and has traveled the world to train and share the gift of literacy.
