You might see events in the Margie Edinger room at the Central Park Library and wonder: who was Margie Edinger?
Margie was a long-time library supporter who left the library a significant amount of money to support library programs – that is, the classes and events that happen at the library. The Foundation and Friends works with The Santa Clara City Library to support programs like Comic Con. When the library wanted to launch Comic Con in 2016, they used these funds for this new, unproven event. Would people like it? Would it draw people to the library? Would it boost circulation of the graphic novel collection?
The Santa Clara City Library Comic Con is a success – everyone loves it! But it wouldn’t have happened without Margie Edinger’s legacy gift. And this is only one of the programs that’s been supported by her donation.
Your legacy gift could also help transform The Santa Clara City Library in ways you can’t even imagine yet, to help them reach everyone in the community. Please talk to your estate planner or make a will on a website like freewill.com and plan to support your community and your library.
Thank you.
