Through a donation from the Foundation and Friends, first aid kits were put together and donated to the teen mom’s at the Young Parent’s Center last month. A Kaiser emergency room nurse also spoke about infant and child first aid and emergency care.
One significant need in the library is for children’s early readers books — short, hard-cover illustrated books that adults can read to their children (or grandchildren) and which the children can then start to read for themselves. Congratulations to the winners of the Library’s bookmark contest! The Foundation & Friends’-sponsored contest encouraged students to design an original bookmark to promote National Library Card Sign Up Month.
