You can donate stock to the Foundation and Friends – tax free!
Did you know that when you donate stock to the Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends, that it’s tax free? It’s true! You pay taxes on the stock if you sell it and donate the proceeds. But you don’t pay any taxes if you just donate the stock! This is a great way to make your donation go a bit further both for you and for us.
Note: this is also true for transfers of stock out of your IRA, if that’s something you’re thinking about.
