Giving Tuesday: Genealogy Scanner

genealogy scanner

Are you interested in researching your ancestors? Do you ever need to scan in a photo or a document but don’t do it often enough to buy your own scanner? Well, the genealogy department up on the second floor of the Central Library has a new oversize scanner. Anyone can use it, but we anticipate that genealogy will use it the most. That’s why it’s there.

Your donations provide this great public resource for everyone to use. You can scan in a couple of old photos or the page of a book or… who knows what?

#GivingTuesday is on Tuesday December 1st! We want you to donate money to the Santa Clara City Library Foundation & Friends that day. Of course the money you give to the Foundation & Friends buys books and DVDs. But it also funds other wonderful things, like the new genealogy scanner.

Please donate on December 1st. If you donate more than $150 that day, your name will be entered into a drawing for a football from the 49ers signed by Reggie Bush. Thanks for your support!
