Giving Tuesday: Summer Reading

Summer Reading Program

The Summer Reading Challenge is one of our most popular programs. Each year, thousands of people sign up and thousands of people finish the program! Almost 6000 children, teenagers, and adults signed up in 2015, and they read an average of 17 books. That’s over 52,000 books read over the summer!

Summer reading programs help students in our community keep their reading skills sharp while school is out. This is a great motivational tool to keep children interested and motivated in school – and we couldn’t do it without your help!

#GivingTuesday is on Tuesday December 1st! We want you to donate money to the Santa Clara City Library Foundation & Friends that day. Of course the money you give to the Foundation & Friends buys books and DVDs. But it also funds other wonderful things, like the Summer Reading Program.

Please donate on December 1st. If you donate more than $150 that day, your name will be entered into a drawing for a football from the 49ers signed by Reggie Bush. Thanks for your support!
