One of the fundamental ways the library helps everyone to be their best is by supporting literacy. Everyone reads as a part of their daily life, be it street signs to get around or making it through your email. Reading is a core skill to modern society.
The library has so many ways to support literacy. You can find all kinds of books, to meet you where your interests are. The library hosts lots of story times, to show kids that reading is fun. There is Read Santa Clara, a set of programs designed to improve adults’ reading skills. ESL Book Club allows non-native-English speakers to practice reading English.
