Join one of the last pride events of June!

Yosimar Reyes, a pride event for the santa Clara city library foundation and friends, a series supported by The Santa Clara City Library foundation and friends

We are always happy to support Pride classes and events here at the library.

On June 30, Yosimar Reyes will be talking with librarian Danny Le about being queer and undocumented in today’s society. The talk info:

We Never Need Documents to Thrive

Through a poetic lens, Yosimar Reyes presents a comedic conversation about what it means to be queer &  undocumented in today’s political system. Drawing from personal anecdotes, Reyes takes us on a journey of self-empowerment and perseverance, providing insight into the ways undocumented queer communities continue to build lives despite adversities.

Yosimar Reyes is a nationally-acclaimed poet and public speaker. Born in Guerrero, Mexico, and raised in Eastside San Jose, Reyes’s work explores themes of migration and sexuality. The Advocate named Reyes one of “13 LGBT Latinos Changing the World” and Remezcla included Reyes on their list of “10 Up and Coming Latinx Poets You Need To Know.”

The talk is currently scheduled for June 30 at 1pm. Please look at the library’s event calendar for this and other Pride events.
