A little man, spinning round and round inside the cogs of a giant machine – this powerfully funny iconic image comes from Charlie Chaplin’s 1936 comic masterpiece “Modern Times”. In his last silent film, one complete with Chaplin’s own brilliant musical and sound score, the Little Tramp explores a chaotic Depression Era city-scape to discover not only laughter, but love.
