KPOP SC Brings the Beat to Central Park Library

KPOP SC, held at the Santa Clara City Library on June 7, 2025, was a celebration of the city’s diverse and thriving cultural landscape. Designed to welcome and engage all members of the community, the event highlighted the global phenomenon of K-pop – one of today’s most popular music and dance genres – while bringing together hundreds of teens and families at Central Park Library. Alongside this exciting event, the ongoing K-pop Club at Northside Library continues to offer teens a space to connect over shared interests and explore the world of K-pop year-round.

But what exactly is K-pop? It’s far more than catchy tunes—it’s a dynamic blend of pop, EDM, hip-hop, and R&B, paired with high-energy choreography and visually stunning performances. Groups like BTS and BLACKPINK have made international waves, and their fandoms often foster a strong sense of belonging among fans. KPOP SC embraced that spirit, featuring impressive dance troupe performances and opportunities for community engagement. With its positive messaging and international appeal (including many American K-pop stars), K-pop resonates with audiences across the globe. Through events like KPOP SC and the ongoing club at Northside Library, the Santa Clara City Library continues to foster creativity, cultural appreciation, and community connection for the next generation.

The Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends is proud to support diverse cultural programs like KPOP SC.
