What is Librarypalooza?
Librarypalooza is the gala fundraising event for The Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends. It’s also a perfect time to have fun with your fellow library supporters!

The event raises money for The Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends, an organization dedicated to supporting the Santa Clara City Libraries and lifelong learning in Silicon Valley. To that end, we will ask for donations at the event, though it is not required to make one.

Expect a raffle full of fun prizes, delicious food, drinks, and a chat with Olivia Allen-Price, host of the Bay Curious podcast!

Olivia Allen-Price is the host and senior editor of KQED’s award-winning Bay Curious podcast. She’s also the author of a book based on the podcast called “Bay Curious: Exploring the Hidden True Stories of the San Francisco Bay Area.” She’s also worked at The Baltimore-Sun, The Virginian-Pilot. She holds degrees in journalism and political science from Elon University.

Where is Librarypalooza?
This year, for the first time, Librarypalooza will be at the Triton Museum! The Museum’s address is 1505 Warburton Ave, Santa Clara, 95050.

What are some of the raffle prizes?
The big raffle prize is a 55″ Samsung TV, donated by Video Only. We will also have San Francisco 49ers and San Jose Sharks themed baskets, in addition to food and wine baskets – you’ll have to come to the event to see them all!

When is it?
Librarypalooza 2024 will be on Saturday May 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM – a perfect time for a cocktail hour celebrating booze and books!

Librarypalooza 2023

We hosted our annual gala fundraiser at the Central Park Library on Saturday April 29, 2023.

We had delicious food from Holy Cannoli Catering and fabulous 1920’s-era music from DJ Thomas Ramon Aguilar of Universal Grammar. Enjoy a raffle and other fun during the first part of the evening. Ben Gonzales from A+ Benefit Auctions (who did a fabulous job last year) will be our live auctioneer again.

We honored long-time volunteers Crystal and Don Scheel. Live auction prizes include:

• a tour of 1920s Santa Clara with Mary Hanel
• a wine tasting from Total Wine and More
• a whisky tasting from 10th Street Distillery
• lunch and behind-the-scenes tour with City Librarian Patty Wong

• Private Chef Dinner for 6, provided by Holy Cannoli

Additionally, we’re honoring Crystal and Don Scheel, two long-time volunteers who make our book sales happen!

This year, for the first time, we held Librarypalooza at the Northside Library! This was a great opportunity for our supporters to explore a branch of The Santa Clara City Library they may not have been to before.The Northside Library address is 695 Moreland Ave, Santa Clara, 95054.

When is it?
Librarypalooza 2022 was held on Saturday April 30, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 10:04 PM (a significant time in the first Back to the Future movie, if you remember).
