Santa Clara Pioneer portraits now hanging in the Heritage Pavilion

Saxe Portraits

The 1844 portraits of Santa Clara pioneers Dr. Arthur Wellsley Saxe and Mary Judson Saxe have been donated by their descendant Suzanne Burke to the Santa Clara City Library. They are now hanging in the Heritage Pavilion

Ms. Burke was very excited to see the photo of the portraits hanging in the Library, “My sister and I both got lumps in our throats seeing the portraits hanging where they belong.” Many thanks to Ms. Burke for donating these pieces of Santa Clara history.

The Foundation & Friends assisted in the effort to display the portraits by funding the shipping cost.
