The Santa Clara City Library Foundation & Friends Announces a New Executive Director

The Santa Clara City Library Foundation & Friends (SCCLFF) is thrilled to announce JoAnn T. Davis as its new executive director.

The Santa Clara City Library holds a special place in JoAnn’s heart. She lived in Santa Clara for many years and has special memories of taking her children to the Central Park Library.  JoAnn has held numerous leadership positions in local Bay Area nonprofits. She has also been a community volunteer and nonprofit Board member. She believes that nonprofit and public service organizations play a critical role in the well-being of a community and has focused her career on the support of these organizations. She holds a BA in Political Science from San Jose State University. She joins us from Community Services for Children where she was the interim CFO and helped the organization improve and expand their department and provided a smooth transition for the new CFO. We are excited about the wealth of experience and enthusiasm JoAnn brings to SCCLFF.

The Library is a place for life-long learning. With JoAnn at the helm, the SCCLFF will enable the Library to be nimble, innovative and responsive to community needs. “I am looking forward to have JoAnn join us at the new SCCLFF executive director,” says, SCCLFF Board President Harbir Bhatia. “I am excited that her background will help us to take the organization to the next level and continue the great work already in motion.”

JoAnn is eager to work with the board, staff and volunteers to raise funds and advocate for the Santa Clara City Library. JoAnn says, “The Santa Clara City Library has been ‘my library’ for many years and I am so excited to join the SCCLFF team. I feel very fortunate to be able to work for the benefit of the Library. It feels like coming home.”

JoAnn started her new position in early November, and succeeds Tracy Wingrove, who is departing the organization after eight successful years as both Associate Executive Director and Executive Director. We’re deeply grateful to Tracy for leaving the organization with such a solid foundation, including a strong team and a robust organisational culture, and for making the transition as smooth as possible. She has left the organization in a place of operational and financial stability, with strong relationships across the community.

Please join us in welcoming JoAnn into her new role and celebrating this exciting next chapter in our story. With this transition, we would like to assure our community, friends, and partners that our mission and core values remain the same. As always, we welcome any questions and look forward to engaging the community in the exciting work we will be kicking off under JoAnn’s leadership.
