This post is part of our occasional series on planned giving.
We’ve been talking about what Planned Giving is and how it works, but we haven’t talked about the big question yet: why? Why would you, for example, put the library in your estate plan?
The most common answer is because you want to leave a legacy, to your family, to your community, to your library, to a cause that you have cared about your whole life. But maybe you also want to make a larger donation to the library than you are currently able to. Maybe you’re worried about estate taxes, and you’ve heard that charitable donations will reduce estate taxes (they will!).
If this sounds compelling to you – that you want to leave a legacy to the library – please contact us to ask any further questions you might have.
