We’ve asked around for stories from our volunteers about why they love the library. It’s wonderful to hear people’s answers, and we hope to bring you more of these in the upcoming months, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.
One of our board members shared this:
For sure, the #1 reason would be….books! We are a family of bookworms, and there’s no better place to get tons of books than the library!
There is never a shortage of genre types and books for all ages – each time we head to the library, we return home with a bag (sometimes bags!) full of books.
Aside from books, we love the library for all the diverse activities that cater to the entire family. Among our favorites are the annual ComicCon celebration and the Summer Reading program. We enjoy the various activities – meeting famous authors, participating in the various games and being able to spend time with our favorite comic and entertainment characters from sci fi to fantasy to anime!
As a volunteer in the library, I also enjoy participating in the bookselling operations – it provides me with the opportunity to meet other members of the community; to interact and get to know the sunny side of Santa Clara!
We enjoy supporting the Library and Comic Con and Summer Reading to help people celebrate what they love and become members of the community. We hope to hear and share more stories like this in the upcoming months.
