Thank you for your support throughout 2020
A huge thank you to everyone who has checked out items, attended online classes and events, or otherwise supported the Library during 2020. This has not been an easy year for anyone, and by supporting your library, you are supporting your community and we appreciate your generosity.
- Bringing classes online like the children’s STEAM workshops that have drawn not only students from Santa Clara, but from as far away as Iowa, Argentina, and India.
- Making sure the library has plenty of Hotspots so that people without Internet at home – or without enough bandwidth at home – can access work or online classrooms.
- Conducting free online resume writing and job finding workshops to help those most affected by the economic downturn.
Your Donations Make The Difference
We have lost a major source of revenue this year: our used book sales. About one-third of our annual revenue comes from used book sales, and we have not had a monthly book sale since February and our bookstore closed on March 13th. Our finances are hurting.
Your support – at the highest level you can give – will help us continue to support the Santa Clara City Library’s efforts to build community, to help entertain your kids, to keep students engaged with learning outside of their distance school classes. Your donation brings art programs to adults and children alike and provides everyone the opportunity to express their emotions creatively and constructively.
We cannot do this without you. We are projected to lose $100,000 in revenue this year and your help matters more than ever.
A donation of:
- $2,000 will help bring ESL Book Club to life for a year, providing literacy support to vulnerable populations
- $1,000 could support a series of Creativity Programs and Workshops to help everyone keep their spirits up
- $500 could support a Virtual Car Repair program, teaching people how to keep their car in good running condition
- $250 will help provide one Hotspot with a Year of Service to make sure everyone can get online
